Working with the Howrigans
One of my first sugaring stories was when I wanted to work with horses. I went to the Howrigans, it was Francis Howrigan and all the boys were together at the same farm. He sent me to see Raymond, who unfortunately passed away this year. I went to tell him I wanted to work with horses without charging and I would just charge him for gathering. I gave him a whole big spiel selling myself and he told me to get 5 gallon buckets, which you usually use to gather, and go to the top of the woods with his brother and he would tell me at the end of the day if they were hiring. ~ Dave Gaudette
